Brides and grooms have always struggled with whether to ‘do it yourself’ or hire it done.  The easy answer is to DIY only when it makes sense.  Otherwise, have it done for you so that you can enjoy the day and remember it as a joyous one, not as a time when you were completely stressed out trying to finish your DIY projects.

Here is a great example of a time when it makes sense to DIY.  A bride getting married next month is a graphic designer and she decided that she wanted to design and print her own menu card.  I’ve been thinking about it ever since she showed me — I love it!

Now it’s my job to figure out how to best show it off, either tucked into a napkin, or displayed on top of the napkin, or sitting next to the place setting.  What do you think?
